Our Story

Margot is a family-run interiors and lifestyle brand founded by husband-and-wife Kristian and Amanda. At its heart, Margot celebrates the home, the rituals of cooking, and the joy of gathering with loved ones. Designed by the duo, the brand’s timeless essentials reimagine classic interior pieces that have made shared meals a cherished tradition. Alongside their designs is a carefully curated selection of pieces from independent makers who share their dedication to exceptional craftsmanship.

Nestled in the heart of Lewes, East Sussex, the chocolate-brown storefront sits at the foot of the South Downs, where the rolling hills meet the town’s historic, sloping high street. Housed in a Grade II-listed 18th-century building, Kristian has lovingly restored Margot, enhancing the building’s original period features with expert craftsmanship. The restored lincrusta ceiling and terracotta floor tiles, reclaimed from a Spanish museum and smoothed by time, echo the home’s rich history.

Beyond its carefully designed space, Margot is driven by a deeper purpose. All profits support Cook School, a non-profit initiative founded by Amanda and Kristian in 2019 to teach children how to cook delicious food that’s kind to both the planet and their bodies. Having already reached over 250,000 students in the UK, Sweden, Finland, and soon, the USA, Margot helps enable Cook School to expand its impact and nurture the next generation’s relationship with food.

The story of Margot is deeply personal. For Amanda, food has always been central to life, passed down from a mother who cherished good ingredients and a father who lived in Italy. As a renowned children’s food writer and award-winning cookbook author, Amanda’s mission is to make mealtimes effortless and joyful.

The founders share a timeless approach to design, believing the home should be a place for lasting memories. Margot is about more than beautiful design—it creates a welcoming home where timeless pieces endure, and the rituals of cooking and sharing meals are passed down for generations.

“Margot, from our home to yours.”
